I momentarily
forget to play this
game of let's pretend.

I must not forget again.
The consequences too damaging
not to me
but to those I care most about.

It's when they see how
much of a coward I truly am
underneath.

I know you told me
not to but
I'm going to say
How I feel one last time.

I'm sorry
for acting such a fool
I'm sorry for
not loving you
as much as I should
I'm sorry for
ruining your chapter of life
with
my own.

Forgive me?

I can't offer much advice to improve this because it's already so good. :D I love the way you use world play and how unique it is in general.

But If I were you I would have put Quotation marks around the phrase "let's pretend" because it would make what game you were referring to clearer.

And it might add a certain quality of the phrase being said. like "let's pretend as opposed to facing reality".

Sometimes I honestly feel like the line between pretend and reality is blurred so much that I don't know who I am anymore. I can just make myself feel something when nothing is there. And that's scary. I think this is a great reflection on the masklike quality of life.
